Dr. Ted DeWitt of the Pacific Coastal Ecology Branch (PCEB), Western Ecology Division (WED), National Health and Environmental Effects Laboratory (NHEERL), Office of
Research and Development (ORD) at the U S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking individuals, at least 18 years of age, who have completed a Bachelors degree in
ecology, marine science, environmental science, chemistry, zoology, botany, environmental chemistry, oceanography or a related field of study to provide services under a
contractual agreement in the support of research pertaining to the measurement of nitrogen removal as an ecosystem service of estuarine wetland habitats as part of the
Sustainable and Healthy Communities Research Program (SHCRP).
The student contractor must have received their Bachelors within 24 months or be a current student in good academic standing with their university or college.
This contract is projected to begin approximately August 2012. The initial contract will be for 12 months, not-to-exceed (NTE) 1928 hours, with an option to extend the
contract for two 12-month option periods, NTE 1928 hours each option period. It is anticipated the student contractor will work up to 40 hours per week. The majority of
the work will be Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The duty location is the Western Ecology Division, Newport, OR.
