The Conservation Director engages with business, local government, state leaders and agencies, tribes, and local community leaders to generate opportunities to advance Forterra’s programs to create healthy, livable, and prosperous communities. This position is responsible for significant revenue generation through innovative conservation transactions, outreach for business opportunities, and other fee-for-service consulting services in the arenas of stewardship, planning, and community place-making. This position will also provide leadership on designated projects and programs of regional significance. Frequent travel is required.

Part-Time Professional Divers – Pacific Marine Research, Marine Science Afloat Program (Seattle, WA)
Pacific Marine Research is seeking professional and highly skilled scuba divers on a part-time basis. The divers will participate in a marine science field trip program for Seattle school children. Duties include performing a 20 – 30 minute bottom time dive using full-face mask with communication system and video camera to explore and describe underwater plant and animal life to students viewing the video signal from a vessel nearby. The diver should be familiar and comfortable with use of full-face mask (Interspiro Divator), and will be trained to use the video camera.

Under general direction of the storm water manager, and in collaboration with solid waste and wastewater program staff, this position will assist small business owners with voluntary efforts to control, reduce or eliminate pollutants and storm water runoff by offering technical assistance and information on best practices. The mission of the Evolving Earth Foundation is to support education and research in the earth sciences.Grant applications that support this mission in any way will be considered, although preference will be given to grant requests that directly relate to focus areas of the foundation.Possible areas of study include: paleoenvironments and paleoclimates during different intervals in earth’s history; taphonomic processes in terrestrial, marine and freshwater environments; evolution, systematics or taxonomy of fossil plant or animal groups; paleontological, paleobotanical or paleoecological studies of specific fossil localities; relationships of organisms in paleocommunities with each other or with their physical environment; or evolution of landforms and geologic features.
