Wetland Specialist – Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation (Nepelem, WA)


BASIC FUNCTIONS: This is an Exempt Position. The Wetland Specialist is responsible for promoting long-term productivity and ecological integrity of Reservation wetlands and other Reservation resources. The Wetland Specialist develops wetland monitoring strategy and performs monitoring of wetland-related resources and project impacts, project planning and implementation; develops adaptive management alternatives, conducts wetland outreach, and writes reports, grants and environmental assessment sections. The Wetland Specialist participates in multidisciplinary planning for natural resource projects, collaborating with various programs to incorporate Best Management Practices for activities affecting Reservation wetlands. The Wetland Specialist conducts resource inventory, monitoring, and assessment, creates project maps and GIS datasets, and assesses wetland and riparian conditions across the Reservation. The Wetland Specialist plans/implements wetland restoration projects and provides technical assistance to Tribal Members Tribal/BIA programs, Program Managers, and the general public by providing wetland information and recommendations. The Wetland Specialist collaborates and exchanges information with NRCS, government agencies and other professionals involved in wetland protections and restoration programs on and off the Reservation. The Wetland Specialist will lead and facilitate CTCR’s interdisciplinary Wetland Working Group.
