Description:

This position is responsible for the development and coordination of the year round youth volunteer program.  Duties include recruitment, interview, supervision, program development, and evaluation of youth ranging in age from 11 yrs to 18 yrs.  This position will also be responsible for assisting the Senior Education Specialist for volunteer services and visitor experience with coordination of the adult volunteer program, maintenance of volunteer and education databases, and basic administrative and clerical duties.  Additional duties include creating and implementing interpretive presentations and informal interactions for the general public, coordinating and training interpretive staff and volunteers, special event coordination, and evaluation of interpretive programs. Other duties as assigned.
 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (more qualifications listed on website):
- Minimum of two years of college including coursework in the natural sciences, education or related field
 - Minimum of two years increasingly responsible experience managing and/or coordinating volunteers, preferably youth
 - Experience creating and implementing education/interpretive programming, preferably in a zoo/aquarium or museum setting
 - Excellent communication and interpretation skills required
