Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARYUnder the general supervision of the Senior Supervisor of Environmental Services, the responsibilities of this position are to develop energy and water conservation programs at District schools and facilities; market strategies to promote, educate, motivate, and communicate conservation techniques; analyze data for effectiveness of programs, and coordinate with external agencies.
Essential Functions:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
-Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote, educate, motivate, and communicate conservation techniques; compose materials to publicize programs and events; prepare and make presentations to various organizations, governmental agencies, educational programs, fairs, and other groups; provide reference documents to educational personnel.
-Research external finding opportunities; organize and produce data for application in accordance with agency requirements; monitor and maintain records to comply with organization/agency auditing requirements.
-Work with District staff, City of Seattle Utilities, Washington Natural Gas and oil vendors to coordinate continued development of new methods of conservation, coordinate energy and water data procedures and retrieval with District Facilities staff; identify and establish opportunities and goals to increase conservation effectiveness with utilities; review and analyze areas and need for additional components to be included in this program
-Assist Curriculum & Instruction Services to develop or bring existing comprehensive curriculum materials to incorporate educating students in energy consumption and conservation techniques which may be applied in various environments, the relationship between energy consumption and the environment, conservation goal development, progress monitoring techniques for improving the environment.
-Work cooperatively with the District Recycling Coordinator to assist Curriculum & Instruction Services to create student “outreach” program(s) to bring conservation techniques into student homes, the communities they live in and to assist in school programs; coordinate with businesses within the communities for support of energy and water conservation efforts.
-Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local mandates, District policies and procedures.
-Establish incentive and recognition programs for District sites which have documented behavioral changes for conservation; develop a system for return of savings into conservator’s budget to further promote utility resource conservation...
