The intern we seek will be interested in many topics and the relationships among them. S/he will have strong analytical skills as well as strong writing and communications skills. Sightline values accuracy, depth, clear writing, and the ability to work independently.
Specific research tasks may include:
Data acquisition and other detailed research from public sources
Phone conversations with experts and government officials
Data analysis, number crunching, and close reading
Presenting research results in concise and accurate tables or graphs
Summarizing information in clear, concise, detailed, and well-documented memos and reports
Qualifications and skills
Excellent research and analysis skills, as well as a facility with numbers, as demonstrated through a brief assignment that Sightline may ask qualified finalists for the position to perform.
High academic achievement, strong writing skills, and attention to detail.
This position is unpaid. Sightline’s interns commit to working at least 24 hours per week for at least 3 months. Interns are provided with office workspace, including a computer and email account, along with a bus pass.
