Natural Resource Worker 2

JOB SUMMARY

This position assists in providing a safe, clean recreational area for the purpose of general outdoor activities including boating, fishing, wildlife watching, and camping.
1.  Identify noxious weeks; control noxious weeds using integrated pest management techniques (e.g. herbicides, mowing hand pulling, etc.)

2.  Repair or install gates and fences; maintain signs and kiosks; maintain buildings and other facilities; place boulders or barrier rock where needed.

3.  Safely operate motor vehicles, ATV's hydraulic dump trailers, tractors, and a variety of power tools; transports supplies and equipment using trailers to remote sites.

4.  Safely operate and maintain hand and power tools and equipment for metal and wood construction and repairs and grounds maintenance.


5.  Identify and respond to public safety and health issues and other liability issues on access sites or wildlife areas.

6.  Interact with the pubic and neighboring land owners to answer questions and address concerns or complaints.

7.  Accurately maintain a daily log of sites worked at and the time spent at each location and provide weekly reports.

8.  Comply with health and safety policies, procedures, and standards to establish and maintain a safe work environment; report potential hazards, accidents, or critical incidents in a timely manner.

11.  Lead volunteer groups, correction crews, WCC crews, and other special interest groups.

12.  Clean and maintain restrooms or outhouses at access sites; pick up trash and debris; flag potential hazards and fix, remove or call for removal of hazard; inspect dead or leaning trees; trim overgrowth and vegetation; clean, order and replace signage related to access sites; monitor for ADA compliance.

13.  Grade access site roads and parking areas, fill potholes; paint striping, speed bumps on parking  lots and ADA facilities.

14.  Maintain and repair fencing in wildlife areas; assist with habitat restoration projects including soil preparation, moving, and seeding using a tractor or ATV and implements; pick up litter and monitor public use.
