Aquatic Ecologist, Natural Resource Scientist 3 – Washington Department of Natural Resources (various WA locations)

This position provides scientific support to the Aquatics Division for the management of all state-owned aquatic lands. This position will develop and implement an effectiveness monitoring program to evaluate and report on the implementation of the Department of Natural Resource’s (DNR) land management stewardship measures. Primary responsibilities include: leading the effectiveness monitoring program in directing studies to evaluate effects of leased activities and DNR management actions; developing field sampling plans, directing staff in conducting field research, processing samples, and applying appropriate statistical analyses; and developing recommendations for adapting conservation measures based on effectiveness monitoring findings.
