This position will assist the lead staff for ballast water management in meeting compliance, enforcement, and data objectives for regulating state, national, and international shipping industries to ensure that the discharge of ballast water poses minimal risk of introducing invasive species into the Puget Sound, Columbia River, and coastal ports. The position must have specialized knowledge of the shipping industry and work effectively with ballast water inspectors, multi-national vessel owners and operators, and federal and state agencies.
