The STAR internship in fisheries and aquatic science is an undergraduate internship opportunity for a student interested in graduate studies in aquatic and fishery sciences. This 10 week internship (June 18th – August 17th) is designed to expose the participant to graduate level research, fisheries sampling techniques, and scientific communication skills. The selected participant will be mentored by a current graduate student from the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences at the University of Washington and participate in sampling of Sockeye and Coho salmon on the Copper River Delta in Alaska.

The UW Tacoma Environmental Program is housed within Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. The Environmental Program offers the opportunity to complete either a BA in Environmental Studies or a BS in Environmental Science. Additionally, we offer a Minor in Environmental Studies, a Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (co-administered by Urban Studies) and a Certificate in Restoration Ecology.
