Ecology and Environment, Inc., an international environmental
consulting firm, is offering an exciting opportunity for a mid-level
Environmental Specialist to join our team working exclusively with the
USEPA to support and manage a broad range of hazardous materials
emergency responses, site investigations, and Homeland
protection-oriented activities. The successful candidate will work out
of our Seattle, WA office.


Responsibilities:
• Work on a team tasked with environmental emergency response readiness
• Travel, emergency on-call and outdoor field work
• Plan, conduct, manage, and report on field assessments for hazardous materials
• Operate environmental sampling/monitoring equipment
• Participate in and develop training drills and exercises
• Develop and update Standard Operating Guidance documents for various topics
• Project management
• Client interaction

Requirements:
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Biology, Geology, Environmental
Science, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
• 5+ years of experience with an environmental consulting firm or
government agency and significant experience leading field projects
• OSHA 40-hr training required
• Experience with field monitoring and analytical equipment
• Emergency response experience desired
• Counter Terrorism, Chemical Warfare Agents, and Weapons of Mass
Destruction experience desired
• Familiarity with EPA analytical methods and knowledge of federal
environmental regulations
• Experience writing sampling/work plans, guidance documents, and
analyzing and presenting data in formal reports
• Ability to successfully manage budgets
• Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to travel to support business needs
