Undergraduate Research Assistant UW Seattle

The IsoLab is a collaborative facility specializing in the analysis of light stable isotopes. The focus is the use of stable isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur from ice, rock, and atmospheric samples to help elucidate paleo and modern-day environments. The lab has an outstanding opportunity for an Undergraduate Research Assistant. This individual will initially be responsible for and assist with all aspects of sample preparation. Routine duties include water sample preparation, carbonate sample preparation, and glassware preparation. The successful candidate will work with and be trained by the laboratory manager and collaborate with undergraduate and graduate students, post doctoral associates, and principal investigators. The schedule is flexible around course work. This position will provide excellent laboratory experience necessary for a scientific research career. Previous successful candidates have started as first or second years and stayed until graduation. First and second year students are strongly encouraged to apply.
