Aquatics District Manager—Eastern Washington


This position has a direct relationship with the management of state-owned aquatic lands on behalf of all of Washington’s citizens. The person in this position will lead staff in the management of state-owned aquatic lands in a sustainable manner and to ensure environmental protection of aquatic lands and resources.
The District Manager will work with private industry, governmental groups, Indian Tribes, environmental groups, and other stakeholders to ensure resources are managed to preserve ecological and economic viability, including clean-up, pollution prevention, habitat conservation and protection, restoration, and assessment of proper use of state-owned aquatic lands.
This position manages, plans, and directs professional field staff and their work within the Aquatic Division, Rivers District. The primary area of responsibility includes freshwater state-owned aquatic lands in 21 eastern Washington counties. This position is critical to ensure leases and contracts are being correctly applied, aquatic resources are being protected, and that all state-owned aquatic lands are managed in conformance with constitutional and statutory requirements.
