The Biological Science Technician will assist in conducting avian and/or wildlife surveys by: counting various species and keeping detailed and accurate field reports; capturing, tagging, collaring, or banding animals; tabulating field data and preparing graphs, tables, habitat maps, etc.; preparing field reports; maintaining field camps and equipment; and occasionally operating small boats, cars, trucks, or other vehicles not requiring special licenses or certificates. All field work is conducted on remote islands throughout Alaska. Limited office work is conducted at the duty station in Homer, Alaska at the beginning and/or end of the field season. This position is being offered on various grade levels (GS-4 through GS-7). You must apply to each position or grade for which you want consideration.
