HCP Implementation Monitoring Biologist


This position is responsible for advising state-wide habitat management (HCP) programs and representing the Federal agencies on multi-stakeholder oversight committees 75% of time). USFWS provides direction for this portion of work. There is little experience or precedents to draw upon and supervision are limited and guidance is either nonexistent or very vague. This program oversight includes one of the largest natural resource adaptive-management programs in the USA, covering almost 10 million acres of private and state lands. This position assists with monitoring DNR’s State Lands HCP (25%) – DNR provides direction for this portion of the work.
