The incumbent provides agency science expertise and leadership in meeting department objectives in support of domestic marine fish stock assessment products and reviews. As the designated expert on the biology, ecology, and status of Puget Sound groundfish and forage fish resources, the incumbent will conduct status reviews and assessments of ecologically and economically important species by incorporating survey, fishery, and biological data into determinations of present status, trend, and potential production The incumbent will plan and execute resource surveys and studies using standard and advanced techniques. The incumbent will also identify and develop scientific surveys; apply appropriate scuba, remote operated vehicles, quantitative video, netting, or other techniques to acquire samples, conducts quality assurance procedure to ensure accuracy; and develop databases for analysis.
