The person selected for this position will assist in implementing the Common Murre Restoration Project. This seabird restoration project has utilized social attraction techniques, reduction of human disturbance, and other methods to recover extirpated breeding colonies of Common Murres along the central California coast. Other aspects of the project include seabird colony monitoring, aerial and boat surveys of seabird colonies, public education, and production of reports and publications. Additional duties will include analyzing and interpreting research data from studies and management programs and writing scientific reports and papers.

The UW Tacoma Environmental Program is housed within Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. The Environmental Program offers the opportunity to complete either a BA in Environmental Studies or a BS in Environmental Science. Additionally, we offer a Minor in Environmental Studies, a Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (co-administered by Urban Studies) and a Certificate in Restoration Ecology.
