Entry-level Scientist or Engineer – Geosyntec Consultants (Seattle, WA)

We have a position available for an entry-level scientist or engineer in our Seattle, Washington office.  Our preference for this position is a geologist, hydrogeologist or civil, chemical, or environmental engineer.  The selected candidate will provide environmental consulting services associated with contaminated site investigation and remediation, as follows:
 
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:• Soil and groundwater investigation field work;
• Chemical and hydrogeological data evaluation, mapping, and reporting;
• Groundwater and vadose zone numerical transport modeling;
• Groundwater and soil remediation evaluation, cost estimating, design, and implementation;
• Environmental due diligence and regulatory compliance services; and
• Preparation of technical reports and proposals.
 
The selected candidate will perform assignments under the supervision of senior scientists/engineers and project managers.  The individual will also be required to perform tasks in other company practice areas as needed.  Tasks will be designed to develop knowledge, skills and abilities in these technical disciplines and the business of professional consulting services.
 
Requirements:

This position requires successful completion of  40 hours of OSHA health and safety training for working with potentially contaminated materials (provided, as needed), annual 8-hour refresher courses, first aid training (every three years), CPR training (every year), and annual medical monitoring.  The ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and travel are also required.

The minimum qualifications for this position are a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrogeology, engineering, or a related discipline.  A Masters or Ph.D. is strongly preferred, as is the ability to become professionally licensed in Washington.
