Information Technology Specialist
Salary: 15 hours per week at $20 per hour Closing Date: November 30th, 2011 4:30 pm

Qualifications:
An Associate’s degree, ATA, Certificate or equivalent in Information Technology. One to three years of experience building and maintaining networks and computers in a small business climate preferred.

Job Description
Introduction:
The successful applicant will serve as a Conservation District Information Technology Specialist located in the Snohomish Conservation District office. The person hired for this position is directly responsible to the District Manager. Permanence of the job is dependent upon continued funding. The District seeks candidates familiar with Windows Operating systems, Microsoft Office suite, database management and network infrastructure maintenance.
Duties:
Incumbent will:
·         Maintain all Servers and Workstations
·         Maintain and Monitor email, antispam and antivirus via Google Apps and Postini.
·         Perform routine backups of files
·         Maintain and Generate Reports from Multiple Databases with Microsoft Access
·         Support continued development of Organization’s Web Site
·         Maintain managed Antivirus on all Servers and Workstations.
·         Install new computer hardware/software.
·         Determine future technology needs
·         Maintain network shared printers
·         Maintain inventory of technology systems
·         Utilize Geographic Information System (GIS) software to perform queries and database updates
·         Support Users
·         Prepare IT budget and monitor spending appropriately
·         Other duties as assigned
Skills and Knowledge:
·         Familiarity with Microsoft based operating systems and software
·         Familiarity with Google based email
·         Ability to organize and plan own schedule of activities, and to set priorities related to work goals set by SCD Board and District Manager.
·         Ability to maintain accurate records regarding time-keeping and authorized expenses.
·         Ability to work well with technically diverse project teams.
·         Ability to communicate effectively in a team setting.
·         Self-motivation and an ability to work independently.
·         A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
Additional Desirable Skills and Knowledge:
·         ArcGIS Desktop
·         Trimble GPS software and hardware
·         Adobe Creative Suite
