The King County Noxious Weed Control Board is recruiting two board members to serve on the 5-member volunteer board. Applicants must reside within either Weed Control District 2 or 4 (visit the King County Noxious Weed Board webpage or search for the Weed Board at www.kingcounty.gov/weeds for a map of the Weed Districts). District 2 includes the Snoqualmie Valley, Duvall, Carnation, Snoqualmie, North Bend, Sammamish, North Issaquah/Issaquah Highlands, and communities east of Redmond, Bellevue and Lake Sammamish. District 4 encompasses the south-central portion of the county including South Bellevue, Newcastle, Renton, Kent, Auburn, Algona and Pacific. Farmers and other agricultural producers are especially encouraged to apply.
Board member terms last four years and meetings are generally held monthly. The Board’s primary focus is to give direction to program staff, approve the annual noxious weed list for King County, guide noxious weed priorities within the county, and ensure the control of state regulated noxious weeds.
