Noxious Weed Specialist- Full-Time Temporary (Closes 11/22/11)

Position Start/End Dates: November 2011- September 2012

Tasks and Responsibilities:

*  Invasive plant species removal, native planting, use of herbicide and herbicide application equipment, and the use of equipment such as pruning shears, loppers, shovels, machetes, and weed eaters
*  Assist Snoqualmie Tribal Environmental and Natural Resources Department staff with installation and
maintenance of restoration projects
*  Planting bed maintenance and native plant propagation

Required Qualifications:

*  Ability to acquire a Washington State pesticide applicators license within the first 90 days of employment
*  Willingness and ability to work in a variety of weather conditions on uneven terrain in thick vegetation
*  Ability to work with a team, takes initiative, and communicates clearly with team members
*  Working knowledge of native plant species of the Pacific Northwest
*  Ability to identify noxious weeds and other invasive species found in the Pacific Northwest
*  Must have reliable transportation to and from the jobsite
*  Enthusiasm for and appreciation of habitat restoration

Desired Qualifications:

*  Experience with heavy machinery
*  Current Washington State pesticide applicators license
